They are both great critics. I didn't see anything I could seriously object too, in part because I haven't seen many of those movies. I will say I wished they had waited 8 years to have come out with such a list. The top 25 movies of the last 25 years is more fair and not jumping the list-gun.

Good one! But you will never know the secret of making 10,000 dollars a week working from home that I linked to. No, seriously, even though I am making obvious points, I had to get that off my chest.

I often have asked myself why I watch American chat shows. If you think about it, it's a strange, singular profession, even as media entertainment. Take away the first-half comedy (cathartic politically if the host likes to talk about the day's news) and what you're essentially watching is one wealthy person, the

Finished it this week. It's one of the best novels I've read in years. Saunders finds the American president, historical event, and personal biographical event that conveys how much this country was shaped by and needs empathy and compassion. And he does this in a polyphonic way that is lyrical and transcendent. Plus

Even taxes aren't a difference of opinion, economically, if the public good ends are the same.

Gotta love those corporate euphemisms. Jones is as "controversial and polarizing" as the Bubonic plague was.

In the future, cocaine will be scientifically proven to have been good for you.

"Wait a minute, War and Peace is dangling! Fall! Dammit!"

I rather have the one-retailer monopoly corporation be Taco Bell, thank you very much. *Incessantly goes to bathroom, but happily.*

After recently trying almond butter for the first time, I wish I hadn't tried it at all. Even a behemoth like Amazon can't make that shit appealing.

No! No one should play a character that isn't their age!

Does this mean that Americans are on their way to being so stupid that they can be tipped over by bored teenagers?

Huh. I thought it Trevorrow this whole time. So the awful Jurassic World didn't mean a decline in directorial quality. I haven't seen Safety Not Guaranteed.

The child abuser's name is Sickleman? Points for subtlety.

We're all adults. We can believe that what he did was awful, completely unjustified, and his concerns about how awful Republicans in power are were factually correct.

Time magazine's Stephanie Zacharek put it on its best movies of year list, along with staples like Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, and La La Land. Which is intriguing.

Cop Car was okay, and perhaps somewhat like this movie, where it was both about kids (done in an authentic Stephen Kingish way) and a thriller (same), though far less ridiculous in its plotting.

I'll defend movies that mashup tones—those can be interesting and creative, are truer to life, etc—but it sounds like this movie sucks because the story's ridiculous.

Giving this movie more attention than it deserves, I looked up the ages of the actors playing fathers and sons. Ferrell and Lithgow check out, but Gibson is 15 years older than Wahlberg. Even working class Boston guys (I assume that's what they are) wouldn't have kids at 15.

Is Mrs. Beakley Schwarzenegger in drag? This looks good, I like the animation and the meta running out of art.
