I don't know why, but the Homesick Candle sounds creepy. Look, you broke up with that state, or you and the state mutually decided to go your separate ways. But you can't renege and keep a memento of your state when it doesn't know that, nor can it keep a memento of you. All the things you left behind, like an

Arrogant billionaire real estate mogul. Constructing a tall skyscraper that doubles as a metaphor for emasculation. Teaching his son how to be a man. The kids movies in the age of Trump have begun. I look forward to Trumpian romantic comedies.

"Paul Ryan just saw Suicide Squad, was disgusted by it, says its values are not his values, urges everyone to see it this weekend."— Entertainment reporter Mark Harris tweet from a few days ago. Heh.

Just finished the WR-MBB Stranger Things interview. That show done by the Duffer Brothers. There are too many brother acts writing/directing in film and TV to name. Interesting. We don't hear of that many sisters, though (the Wachowskis have been both).

I'm astonished she's 44. Not because she looks in any way older, but that she's been around forever that she should be older.

You know Millie's English by the first sentence of her last response. I'm going to start using that. The kid seems to have a great, well adjusted head on her shoulders, and, now, it's the industry's responsibility not to screw that up. I hadn't thought of young Jodie Foster until now, but, yeah, she's very smart, and

His conservative panelists he does push back with, when they get the facts wrong. I think you can be civil towards a person but still be very critically questioning of them. What I'd like to do is be critical but in a cheery tone.

Wolfcastle standup, thatsthejoke gif.

I knew you would ask that. Swinton is categorically different from them and anyone else, really, but a great actress and beloved like the other two.

I'd love to, but I'm at the other end of the country. Everything else from Star Trek has been made—when are we getting our transporters, dammit?

Perhaps he hates the media—which Luntz is more a part of—for failing on their jobs, than expected self-serving politicians. I never saw Jon Stewart as livid as when he interviewed Judith Miller.

For fuck's sake. Julian Assange's going to be on Bill Maher's show, and Bill will likely go easy on him, as he did with Trump general/Russian propagandist Michael Flynn, though, to be fair, he was on before Trump's Russian comments blew up and Bill may not have known about Flynn's other role. But for a guy who calls

I used to think she was America's Tilda Swinton. Now I think Sarah Paulson may be.

As I've argued here before, Signs, The Village, and parts of Lady in the Water, were good. He's not only good at suspense and atmosphere, but combining realism and fairy tales. The Happening was unintentionally hilarious dogshit. Have been too afraid to see the ones after that. Matt Zoller Seitz gave After Earth four

Kingsman was awesome. The second one, however, didn't even register with me.

Thanks. Hadn't heard of that show. If legit, will check out.

We all know this, but it's still scary seeing it: The NYT made a three minute video from their reporters at Trump events throughout the year showing his most vocal and offensive fans:

The Americans. Which should be easy as you only have to count like five people.

Heh. In my yearlong poem-a-day project, read this today and immediately thought of You Know Who. It's collected in Velocities: New and Selected Poems 1966-1992, which I like a lot. The poem itself is from a 1976 book, where he personified not only the seven deadly sins, but other emotions, giving each of them a poem.
