I always thought the repetitiveness was by design too.  Steven Van Zandt said once that what was so great about the show was that the writers were able to take all these one dimensional guys and make them interesting.

This post sounds good, but it is contradictory.  You take issue with the constant use of "we", yet earlier in the post you decide what "our" or "your" generation is watching.  How do you know this? Just seems weird that nobody speaks for you, but you can speak for an entire generation.
