Saw her play a show last year in York, Pa. She was amazing; great voice, totally bad-ass. Downloaded her album Somewhere Else, and it's one of my favorite albums of last few years.

PoP! -"PoP Goes My Heart"
"Sandy, do you think the American Dental Association has the cure for tooth decay, but are just keeping it a secret? Think about it. They would lose millions." Chris Elliott to Martin Mull while sharing a bed in Get a Life
Honored that someone referencing Newsradio and The Prisoner just made the same joke I was going to.
I was one of those guys Nathan mentions, who had a huge crush on her. Then I ended up working 10 days as an extra on Girl, Interrupted, and somehow that ruined it. Maybe we should never get the chance to see our pop culture crushes in person, as real people.
Sorry, sometimes quotes from 1980 don't sound as funny in 2012.
When Luke raped Laura on General Hospital, I don't
think they ever intended them to become a couple. But the chemistry between them
was so strong, the producers and writers started pretending it was what they
called, a "seduction." That didn't fool anyone. I remember reading that, to
the mortification of Anthony Geary…
This is good stuff. I got it from a Negro. You're probably high already and you don't even know it.
If I couldn't have the condo, I would probably settle for that leather chair.
I was one of thosands of extras in one of the scenes with Bane, filmed in Pittsburgh. He's a weird dude. Tom Hardy seems nice though.
First, hon
You're telling me hot 26 year-olds don't go for bloated middle-aged men in suits from Montgomery Wards?
I first heard about this movie in Danny Peary's great book "Cult Movies." He mentioned that each of the female leads posed for lurid promotional photos on a couch with Ralph Meeker and a gun, (one was used on the cover of a previous DVD version), and if any movie was so sleazy it seemed like it used a casting couch to…
One of my first memories is seeing Peggy Flemming skating to Mary Hopkin's "Those were the Days" on TV. My crush on Barbra Feldon instantly became a crush on Peggy Flemming. I'm pretty sure I loved that song because I was convinced that she also sang it. I clearly was not a bright kid.
Upcoming Very Special Episodes
Really enjoying this series, Noel. I'm looking forward to the upcoming The Rockford Files "Sleight of Hand." I watched the episode on Hulu recently, and while I don't think I've watched the Rockford Files since I was a kid, it was way darker and sadder than I ever remember any of the…
Letterman and the warm-up
Vilanch mentions David Letterman often referencing a pre-show conversations with the audience. I've been to the show twice, and I got the feeling Dave is really looking for something from the audience he can riff on during the show. The first time I saw him, before filming started, he told us…
PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPON!
I saw Marilu Henner as Roxie in "Chicago" like 10 years ago. She was still smoking hot.
Both parts of "Memories of Cab 804" are great, and I bet many people's favorite episodes. But for some reason the one that has always stayed with me is the one where Latka spends his life savings on one month of a luxury apartment.
We played over an entire neighborhood when I was a kid in the 70s, but it was called "Fox and Hounds." It really was a different time. People didn't seem to mind random neighborhood kids hiding in their trees or on the roof of their sheds. If only we had red wine instead of whip-its.
This has become pretty close to my favorite show, and I can't even get anyone I know to watch. I get the feeling that it has to do with the title and those initial commercials when it debuted last season, which didn't really hint at what the show really was.
