Wasn't that, like, three episodes ago?
Wasn't that, like, three episodes ago?
And that article makes some compelling points. These things:
1) Having not yet watched Jessica Jones, I have no idea how its style or craft measures up. Having seen Daredevil, I'm guessing it's similar in tone. But the creators don't necessarily want me to be shocked by the lighting, etc., so those things aren't…
I love his performance as a villain, I still think his work as "most vanilla good guy ever" was pretty lame. I'd call that about 40% the writing's fault, though.
But it actually makes a lot of sense to compare an apple to an orange. In the giant category of "things in the universe," apples and oranges are very much alike. What doesn't make sense is to say, "I don't like this apple because it doesn't taste like an orange."
I love this.
Right now, I don't care about his sexuality, because it doesn't really inform his character in an interesting way. He doesn't have much character yet at all, to be fair. That might change if they give him a storyline.
Didn't May say it? His appeal is that he's damaged. That's a powerful trope. Not for me personally, but for Draco Malfoy defenders everywhere.
The AVClub bases grades on the show relative to itself, not other shows. This grade is saying "This episode was pretty average compared to other episodes of this show."
But Fitz will find out and be wracked with guilt and that will be the new way to keep Fitz and Simmons apart.
How much of Fitz's development is unrelated to Simmons, though? They kind of came as a unit, and stayed that way.
Also, as a person who has not got around to binging Jessica Jones yet, can we PLEASE stop putting spoilers for that show everywhere else on this site? I mean, I know it's not a huge secret that she dates Luke Cage, it was pretty much written in to the trailer, but I don't want that viewing experience ruined for me…
I might give this a B-, but for different reasons than Oliver. I think killing Rosalind was a waste of a potential character, and it made Coulson's vendetta seem really forced. Sure, he's fond of her, but they haven't known each other long, and his reaction was way off the charts. Other characters who have lost…
And yet, we're all still here.
That only became really apparent at Leslie and Ben's wedding. Like, why wouldn't her mother, who works in the building, be there?
I learned it from Gilmore Girls.
It seemed like everyone was doing actual work this week except Holt. It kind of felt like someone left Jake in charge of the precinct again, but Holt was still there.
Hi, I'd just like to say: I agree with you, this is the AVClub's usual attitude towards these reviews, and I don't know why everyone's being such dicks about it.
She looked so fake to me, I assumed everyone knew and it was part of their shtick.
David Anders is so charming, I keep finding myself on Peyton's side in thinking he's not such a bad guy. I can see how Blaine got as far as he did in life (plus all the murdering probably played a role).
I don't understand why Jane/Taylor/notTaylor is still allowed to go around with an FBI team. The original rationale was that it might lead her to someone who might know how she ended up tattooed in Times Square. However, the show has backed that up with exactly zero evidence that that might be the case.
