I'm sure someone will read your wise comments in like three years, wafflezombie, when the discussion comes back up on the auto-reclycler-o-matic.

Ellie - the freakish imagery is quite intense at times, so understand. I was reading in the park last weekend and had to stop so that I didn't throw up or something.

Bought my copy used through abebooks.com. In a very strange twist of fate, I am also on page 235, so I almost feel like Joe_Blevins and I should just start our own discussion of it right now…

I've found that my level of criticism is directly proportional to the amount of money/time/effort I have to put into seeing something. Like, if I see something for free when I have nothing else to do, I'll be pretty forgiving. But, if I have to go out of my way to see something and then it just sucks, I'm going to

Funny - the use of eels music is what got me to go see Yes Man.

I have a KGB flask I got in college. I would sometimes put good alcohol into it before going to parties I know would have shitty alcohol. The only other time I remember using it was when someone convinced me to go see a screening of Disney's Tarzan. Hitting the bottle (er, flask) was the only way I made it through

Also, while Mia's story may be a bit stereotypical (but, really, they all are…), she has some fantastic reactions. I know it was from last week's ep, but I can't stop thinking about the way her sadness melted away and turned to joy when Paul put on her tape. Her problems might not be that exciting or life

I still don't get the April love. Her segments are okay, but so much less interesting than Mia. To me, April feels like she's torn out of some stereotypical "I've got cancer" movie from the 80s. There's some good stuff in there, but I don't see why she's everyone's favorite.

Can't stand this musical
But, on the bright side, it reminded me that I hadn't listened to the "Welcome to Woop Woop" soundtrack in a while.

Yeah, reading through this, all I could think was "when did Frank Miller get so damned misogynistic? Has he always been that way?" Damn. Still, it's not quite to the level of Sim - he hasn't made it into a whole philosophical system with essays and such. He's just an asshole.

lol - I think it says more about my undergrad experience than my law school (which was top-25).

Yeah, my experience was that law school was easier than college.

My most hard core experience with the Socratic method wasn't in law school (where I could usually talk myself around something even if I wasn't really sure), but rather in a Russian history class in college. My prof asked a question (don't remember what) and I gave an answer. He then drilled me for like ten minutes

Yeah, last week I also thought he had to be dating one of the guys. Plus, this week, he just said, "I'm seeing someone else," not giving a name or using pronouns or anything. So, I wouldn't be too surprised if that's how it turned out.

Yeah, have to agree - seems like they are picking out two examples out of, oh, 13 or so, and arguing it's consistent. Maybe that's what happened here, but it's not like it's his MO.

That's why I don't watch Fox, Whedon (& Co.) shows excepted.

Truth is pretty much right, troll though he may be. I've purposely kept my distance from Dollhouse because I could see the writing on the wall the moment the show was announced. I mean, I've been watching it, but I've not been making that much of a point of it and I generally do it while doing something else. Yeah,

I think Three Men and a Baby was remade as last week's Reaper.

Yeah, if it's a remake/reboot, it doesn't really make sense to use the same guy. I mean, you didn't see them drag out Clooney or Val Kilmer when they made Batman Begins…

@ The Bob The - that's how I read the scene with Sierra, though it may have been more oblique, like he decided to totally ruin her life to such an extent that the Dollhouse was her only option out. But we've already known the people behind it were pretty much bastards - after last week's ep, for instance, it looks
