The calendar Sarah Lynn marks at the start of the episode shows that the bender started on January 15, so they did get the timeframe right.

I actually think this was the best episode of the season by a long shot - even though the underwater episode got all the attention, I think this one did the balance of absurdist comedy and a strong, character-driven emotional core even better.
