BRIAN BLESSED would make an excellent Thing or Doom or anybody really.

Initially (for all of about 1.5 issues), Human Torch was basically a guy on fire who couldn't burn to death and Invisible Woman couldn't control her powers. Even minus the grim darkness of the original concept, Reed ruined their lives forever, for no good reason.

Ultimate Spider-Man had it's moments of complete shit.

The overall appeal of this show to me is that it's The Avengers (UK) with a higher budget, meaning less shameless camp appeal.  I think somebody made at ABC made the mistake of advertising this as something more than just popcorn action (which is something that you don't really get much of on TV).
The appeal (for me)

@Melancholic_Rodeo_Clown:disqus, the transatlantic accent (which many from Canada, though not as many from Manitoba have) is the 'most neutral' of English accents, and Appalachian is one of the oldest accents/dialects currently spoken.

There have been some good stories that Batman was the primary focus of (I, for one, really liked Batman RIP). But I agree with you for the most part.
I think the other thing that some bat-critics mess up is that they assume a flat character is inherently a bad character.

Batman Beyond was incredibly underrated.  The Animated Series was better (imo). But Beyond was better continuation of that series than The WB's series in terms of themes, characterization and overall quality.

It's one of those movies that couldn't not be over rated (at least it was when in the 90s).  I think it's very good, but still I agree.  Anyway, it was never going to win an Academy Award.

It wasn't the only episode from that season that I liked, but the Sophie Hawkins dance was easily the best (IMO).

I really don't see where you got the hacker girl thing from.  The first episode seemed to establish that she was more or less the whole of the Rising Tide and that even by the end she was on the fence about switching sides to join SHIELD (hence the last seen where she's discussing joining with the chief guy).

I agree about the hacker chick being a terrible lead, hopefully they'll fix this.  I was also bothered by the "way too good looking and clean to be a hacker living out of her van" problem. Eventually, I decided that since she's a super-hacker who can do anything, she probably hacked herself some money and rents hotel

@avclub-d80ecbbbef6ab40a4e53d1ad2c3fc1b2:disqus the premise and talkiness made up for the bland action sequences.

Inspector Dai Thomas and W.H.O. from the original Excalibur series

I found generic handsome guy slightly more sufferable than generic 'plays by her own rules' hacker girl.  I'm hoping they do get involved in a predictable romantic sub-plot that has little to no bearing on the plot and can be safely fast-forwarded past.

McCloud?

The premise was that nobody would hire her as a PI (or the standard Hollywood version of a PI) because she was a woman. Jessica Fletcher was a mystery writer by profession, so it wouldn't matter that nobody would hire her. I don't know The Snoop Sisters.

The link is to 'We are Men' getting cancelled and 'Mike & Molly' taking its spot.

Agreed on the live action shows. I really disliked Tom Goes to the Mayor, but was brilliant compared to Great Job!  If it means less live action Tim & Eric then I'd gladly get behind bring Tom Goes to the Mayor.

Earwigs: In addition to having a back-up penis both are longer than the earwig itself.
