Some Kind of Munster

Man, I was a strident, self-righteous punk all throughout the ‘90s and I sold out and got a respectable job at a shitty company that sourced plastic garbage from China as soon as I had the opportunity in 2001. So, uh… I sold out a long fucking time ago.

I’m liking because it made me laugh, not because I agree with you (pineapple on pizza is AWESOME).

Yeah, I dabbled in industrial, but I was way more into punk in the early ‘90s and it was the same kind of thing – a lot of times I’d buy an album or go see a band just because they got a “thank you” in the liner notes or I saw a picture of a band I liked wearing one of their T-shirts. I bought a lot of shitty albums

Matthew Good Band? You weren’t kidding about that Canadian Tuxedo, were you?

Melvins – Revolve
Hellacopters – 5 vs. 7
Ladytron – This is Our Sound
Snuff – Batten Down the Hatches
White Stripes – Hotel Yorba
Andrew Bird – Imitosis

I had a Ginja Ninja ginger-flavoured beer from B.C.’s Granville Island Brewery that was surprisingly good (I usually avoid flavoured beers but this one was part of a sampler 6-pack that a friend brought to my house). Most of the Granville Islands in the sampler were kind of dull, and the beer itself was pretty bland

To deflate that a little, I believe “Guns of Brixton” was written by Simonon after being arrested for mischief after shooting what turned out to be valuable racing pigeons with a BB gun.

That’s exactly what happened with The Chase.

Good, god man!

There's no 'i' in Teamocil, at least not where you think…

That’s always been my problem with Soundgarden. I generally have no problem with abrasive vocals or “bad” singing but there’s something about the way Cornell screeches that just gets under my skin. He’s got a really powerful voice but he just seems to wail at a single pitch with no control or subtlety.

It’s kind of awesome that you became a Soundgarden fan by way of Christian Slater. He’s a gateway drug!

Wow, that totally sounds like early Goo Goo Dolls (which isn’t a bad thing). I liked it except for the weird fake English accent thing the singer had going on in a few places

Yeah, I don’t think I knew you could clear them with a jump – I used to wait at the base of the pipe for them to go back down then jump up onto the pipe to get past them. How many precious days of my life did I cumulatively waste doing that?

Yeah, surprised no one has mentioned kids’ programming yet. Caillou I don’t mind that much because it’s fairly mild and gentle (although he is a whiny little shit and I think his father has suffered some sort of traumatic brain injury), but Dora drives me fucking insane. The songs! The repetition! The nonsensical

Your brother sounds pretty awesome!

Y’know, I still haven’t even watched S4 of AD yet and I consider the original 3 seasons probably my favourite sitcom of all time. I mean, I don’t watch more than a couple of hours of TV a week these days and there’s always something else on Netflix to catch up on but I don’t know how I just haven’t gotten around to

I wish I had an elephant.

That kid who got stuck in the statue the other day would beg to differ

There’s a pretty good Drive By Truckers version but I’d still take Dylan’s original over it.
