Funny that you mention Franz Ferdinand, since it was an opening slot for FF that introduced me to them. I seemed to be the only person in the crowd who was digging what they were doing at all and I ran to the merch table immediately after their set and bought Love the Cup.

BOOK ENDING SPOILERS

1408 started off well and there was one jump scare near the end that genuinely unsettled me (it occurs when he's watching his mirror image in the building across the alley), but I know I lost interest long before it was over. Now that I think about, that sounds about right for a Stephen King adaptation.

I think any buddy cop movie with Brett Butler in it needs to also feature Canadian comedian Brent Butt (because I always get those two confused).

I'm also going to throw in a + 5 to Meadow Enthusiast for remembering the Soundgarden bassist's side project.
