Well
I figured I'd just comment on this with everyone else, way too late for anyone to bother reading it.

I like to think they do. What's the point of being rich if you can't fight off some dudes that want your stuff? I just assume there's plenty of aging white men (possibly some asians and arabs too) that sit around all day and think about noble-y defending a pile of cash.
shouldn't this be a good opportunity for everyone everywhere to point out that al qaeda loves sarah palin and is inspired to kill for her?
One of my freshman year roommates was a real douche. So much so that I had to wake him up in the middle of the night once, right before the year ended, just to tell him how much I didn't like him. Years later, I have a mild regret for that. But not much, he was a twat, after all. My other roommate was a nice guy…
I tend to go back to Krazy Kat for the art more than the writing. When the writing is good, however, it's really good. But it's more in line with Eliot or Joyce or Pound or any of his other early 20th century experimental contemporaries. There's seldom a set-up/punchline. Unless the punchline is a brick to the…
The Great….
…oh… what's his name?
What's the difference?
White Pepper
I have a soft spot for White Pepper. It was one of those "at right the time" albums. The last days of junior year in college, sitting around being lazy, getting stoned, heartbroke. Exactly Where I'm At and Stay Forever have some great wistful memories attached….
Happiness in metal
For all the aggressiveness and walls of noise this column talks about, the comment section is full of nothing but happiness and encouragement. It's got to be the most positive comment section on the entire site. Brings a tear to my eye.
Romance
No mention of True Romance? I know Tarantino has song the praises of this film in the past. Seems like a pretty direct connection to this and Badlands.
I'm impressed there's a "next page".
I feel the same way. But I also think it's better if it pisses you off. At least you'll be thinking about the ideas and generating new ideas of your own. Like if I end up hearing some conservative talk radio; I stay up all night rebutting it in my head because it pisses me off so much.
The last clip
The blonde lady walking out of the building in the last clip looks like Kevin McDonald in drag. Possibly from the sketch about "dipping areas".
Ha ha, "self-defensive snob mocks/is mocked by self-defensive snobs". You're right, that was cool. Nothing is worse than someone that likes music wearing a shirt, right?
My choice for actors
Every part should be played by the chubby guy on Youtube that reenacts famous movie scenes like the Alec Baldwin scene in Glengarry, or various scenes from Dark Knight. They're surprisingly well done and funny and he plays all the parts. I was dubious after finding them while searching for…
holy shit!, i did eat some crackers and ramen today! but it was good ramen. i threw in some carrots and green onions, a little jalepeno and a handful of shrimp. it was awesome. and last night i ate sardines on crackers! but they were nice spanish sardines, and i had a glass of Blanton's to go with it. Fourchan,…
This Joblessness
Man, not having a job right now has seriously put me behind on podcasts. I've got like, 4 WTFs backlogged. And apparently good ones. Sounds like I should listen to the Todd Hanson one at home, though. That Mike D one had me crying at my (old) desk.
Wow! I missed a lot! Thanks gang. Too bad it's not streaming on Netflix…
These movies are easy on the eyes.
I've never read the books, nor do I care to, but I'm always surprised by how much I don't mind the movies. The plots are paper thin and always revolve around the one new character/magic item introduced at the beginning, but they're really quite pretty to look at. The costuming and…
yeah, i had the same thought. guess i'll just go watch Spanglish again….
