They could shoot fish in barrels, which would be not unlike picking "What's Up?" for HateSong.

Megan is actually a witch, and Don won't let her use her witchy powers. So this whole season is one extended mind-fuck caused by her witchy mother in law, Agnes Moorehead.

My theory: Don Draper was captured by the Red Chinese in Korea, brainwashed and sent back to the USA to carry out assassinations for his dirty commie masters. JFK, MLK, Bobby K… Draper is behind them all.

Peggy will become Helen Thomas.

Wrong.

Wouldn't this basically be duping Sopranos Season 6 if it's all a death-dream?

The show was notable for its use of the popular music of the moment, and that aspect of it has been lost in the episodes on DVD because the company didn’t want to pay for music rights. You’d think that anything that enhanced the series’ potency as a time capsule would only increase its market value.

IT'S DATA EAST NOT ATARI!!

Also Martin's "I don't know if I have a good answer" could quite possibly be code for "I know why I wrote what I wrote, but only the blowhardiest of blowhard authors explain what you're supposed to get from their work."

@avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus — Going into this, you have to know it's going to be an epic story that could potentially span our character's lifetimes- I mean it's based on thousands and thousands of pages of writing involving hundreds of characters and a dozen factions, how could there not be many

Neat!

@avclub-c1fe85b855c6d045b827f74a1e2c3fd7:disqus , I think one reason HBO ups the ante with the violence is the budgetary constraints. Stabbing Robb's wife in the stomach is equally devastating and far, far cheaper than seeing his thousands of men slaughtered.

I watched The Shield (twice through now) by shotgunning it on DVD/Hulu, and I think when you're ingesting it that way "Co-Pilot" comes across as a needless interruption in a tense, tightly plotted narrative.

There's a bit of the Shaggs going on here..

I would imagine Weiner and writers are well aware of this, and that realistic documentary-style depictions of drug use are not what they're going for here.

Yes.. This is the most likely scenario. A lot of slightly condescending compliments about how it's "not really that bad", then an occasional nipple tweak when the jokes that obviously fall flat, fall flat.

@avclub-b08c744482acd39636a8db16c9db3439:disqus 's attitude is why I wish they'd rename the "experts" thread to something that doesn't have the same gravitas. You're not an "expert" for reading 10,000 pages of fantasy, you're just a dude with a lot of time on your hands.

Whoa, for nearly 20 years and seeing this episode two dozen times I always thought that was a "Hello Mrs. Cunningham" Happy Days reference..

Nice one, Tosh.

Turns out season 4 was all stories written by Roseanne, and also Britta is actually Annie in real life and vice versa, for whatever reason.
