BAHAHAHAH what a missed opportunity.

I had the same exasperation - guys, he still won't have a head at the end of this thing!

Oh SNAP! Bring back John Cho!

The Barb reference made me laugh so hard. I also completely forgot about Grayson's kid.

This exactly.

That doesn't mean he survives past that night, though. They might be being clever with what "returning" means just so who survives remains unspoiled.

And Horns!

And narratively the molten gold was used to irritate Smaug just enough that he says UGH you guys are annoying, I'm going to kill Laketown now bye.

There's a lottttt of that in this final one, just a warning.

The same "relationship" exists but the death is actually an accident, not a murder at all. And a different person is the cause of the death.

Oh I know, Gracepoint is pretending its a thing, but I can't believe it really is.

Well, at least it's over?

That Danny tattoo is now all the more ridiculous because Vince was not at all involved. So dumb.

Yes, Carver admitted that in Broadchurch, though I'd totally forgotten that too.

He was strangled on Broadchurch, but I don't remember what was said on Gracepoint.

That crossed my mind too - who's to say he didn't hit his head on the fall down, accidentally? Broadchurch didn't allow for such a possibility if I remember correctly, Joe actually strangles Danny to death. He doesn't quite realize he's killing him (he panics and tries to stop him from leaving and scare him into not

I like your alt-version, the pedo stuff is jarring and upsetting, and while those are not reasons in and of themselves to avoid them, I just didn't think it was earned in either version of this series.

No, it wasn't…

Very true, they managed to avoid full The Killing.

Yea, I watched because I'm in love with Tennant and my husband (who also loves Tennant but in a more platonic way) hadn't watched Broadchurch. We were also BB fans and wanted to see what Anna Gunn did next. While I did end up comparing the two versions (unfavorably for Gracepoint), I didn't go in with that goal.
