First of all, I really enjoyed that response; you raised some great points. But perhaps what I disliked most of all was that they ruined my Abed (that is, my personal perception of Abed as a character). I prefer the Abed who had these strange mannerisms and who was more of a computer than a man. He understood emotion,

I absolutely loved the first minute. Great way to play off all the real world drama the show has been having as well as tease the viewers and the new show runners themselves a little bit.
