It seems to me that the weaker episodes of Adventure Time are those that adhere too strictly to the limitations of a single topic. Last week's episode was brilliant, because they were willing to weave so many wonderful elements (spitting on birds, the bug Roman chorus, Jake's narcolepsy) around the core of the

It's funny how the most obvious use of continuity in the show revolves around one of the most inconsiquential (though lovable) characters. Pretty soon, there'll be a Tree Trunks spin-off, I'm willing to bett.

Just realized I left all my comments under my facebook account rather than my AV Club account. So much for knowing what everyone thought of what I thought (of what Todd thought).

I love the movie's themes of complacency and desensitization. The whole reason all of the various sacrifice scenarios fail is because they subscribe to the most trite and cliche structures as possible. Hence, it's proper comeuppance when the embodiments of all the stale horror films from the past several decades come

The unicorn really struck a cord with my group of friends.

I'm still waiting until I can see the episode to read the review, but it's nice to know that I apparently have a lot to look forward to.

I adored the so-called "weak" 1st act, probably because the bulk of my historical education seemed to consist of those kinds of documentaries.

Neither does war. Brilliant.

I personally hope for an Annie and Abed pairing at some point. Between the Pool episode (with him working his Mad Men charms), "A Few Paintballs More," and Abed's invitation to move in with him, it seems like there's some groundwork for something there. Also wanna see more of Troy and Britta this season; the ending of

When the Queen B*tch said basically the same thing to Abed in "Women's Studies," I was genuinely shocked at how harsh it came off. I wonder if Troy's letter would have been more effective had that episode not already addressed the problem. Or would it have pushed things here too far?

Of course, now Walking Dead will pull ahead again, only to get shot in the face at the last moment, making Community the true leader.

I loved the gag about nobody wanting to tape the American Idol clone; how many shows are brave or timely enough to rip on competing programing?

All things in life can be reduced to Phil Hartman quotes.

Did anyone else catch the raspberry fakeout at the "sound of sh*t hitting the fan," line? I was totally expecting it, and then… "silence."

With regards to Thank You, I think "emotionally manipulative" stories get a bum rap. Heck, if it weren't for such manipulation, I'd probably never express emotion at all.
As for Belly of the Beast, I might be willing to revoke it from my list pending further consideration, but I'd by no stretch consider it one of the

That moment is pretty great. In fact, if I included all the episodes that featured at least one such moment, my list would be twice as long.

I love that the show's whole premise is essentially the most optimistically envisioned post-apocalyptic future ever. Definitely wanna see this show on AV Club every week.

Best episodes, in chronological order:

At first, I was like, "Aw, but I like the sampler DVDs, I don't wanna have to buy them again." Then, I was like, "Holy crap, that box are is awesome! And special features? *cartoonish drooling*"

The first guest voice I remember placing was Brian Posehn in "Business Time." Always nice to see that guy getting work.
