Donna doesn't seem as beholden to explaining her grades as she does to just generally pontificating on the subject at hand. This isn't the first time I've been surprised by her apparent short-selling of certain BB episodes, but all the same I can appreciate the trouble with the task at hand.

Probably safe to say that we're on the "fall" side of the rise and fall of Walter White. Now to see if he goes out with a bang or a whimper.

So the final season will be 16 eps., split in half ala Venture Bros.? Interesting stuff.

I will admit, Fly is probably still the best episode of anything I've ever seen, though there were moments in tonight's episode that reminded me of it.

I love how the "Next week, on…" segments manage to give absolutely nothing away: everything exciting about last weeks happened in like the first 10 minutes, making the rest of it an absolute thrill.

Forgot to mention the rating thing: I recall vesting a lot in the ratings of the Mr. Show reviews when I was making my way through that show a while back. Still, for shows like this and Arrested Development, where the overall quality is far more consistent, I can see how they would be left out.

I haven't been watching this series along with the reviews (I may have to change that), but I do remember being unengaged with this episode last time I saw it. The action and humor is pretty great, but I just couldn't get over the uncharacteristically poor voice work (especially for the lab coats) and the

Rant
I haven't made it through all of Palahniuk's books yet, but Rant is easily my favorite so far and probably one of the few books I'd ever consider reading through in one sitting. The way it combines intimate character development with the large-scale havoc is thrilling, as is the slow burn on all the major

I'm not really sure how any of Klosterman's books do in terms of consistency. Granted, they're all worth a read, and I can't recall any articles or essays that I out-and-out didn't like, but I see what Black Orpheus means when he calls it lumpy: it does tend to drag a bit near the end, especially in the chapters on

Breaking Bad's DLZ
While I commend Will's acknowledgement of Breaking Bad's fantastic use of music, I'm a bit surprised he didn't mention TV on the Radio's DLZ from Season 2. It marks what's really the last high point for Walt before the long downward spiral that is the last 2 or 3 episodes, and I find myself thinking

I personally loved the scene in The Darjeeling Limited (best Anderson film in my estimation) with The Rolling Stone's "Playin' with Fire." It's a brilliant little montage that deftly ties the whole film together, more or less. Heck, the slo-mo "Strangers" scene was fantastic too.

Can't remember if it qualifies as a music moment, but one of my favorite scenes from Jackie Brown is where Max buys the Delfonics album per Jackie's recommendation. It's a great little moment in an overall fantastic film.

@Yankee Deer - Wave of Mutilation (the slower version, at least) makes a pretty awesome appearance in Southland Tales, and could easily be counted as one of the film's highlights alongside one of the best car crashes ever.

Where was Ebert, then, when Almost Famous came out? Even in his review, he said that all teenagers needed to see it.

I have to wonder about R-rated dubbed films. The Host received a similar treatment. Not sure how directly a lot of this stuff translates anyway, and what kid not familiar with bad words is watching these films with subtitles anyway?
