I'm with Mrs. Izzard on Untitled being beautiful and understated. If not my favorite song, it at least evokes the emotion that comes with knowing I'm in for 50 minutes of awesomeness.

Let Down was the first song that came to mind when I saw the question.
AV Taste Test
Ya'll should write a review for a good, fatty brie.
1. Cripple and the Starfish
2. For Today I Am a Boy
3. What Can I Do?
4. Fistful of Love
5. Epilepsy is Dancing
I was going to say Prince, but Sign O' the Times was released before his 30th birthday. The value of his career after that is arguable.
Wondering about the grade…
The sample sounds pretty good, but it along with the review leave me wondering if this is an "A" in relation to Bob Mould's body of work or in relation to music today. A decade ago, I was probably listening daily to something that Mould had his hands in. He gave vision for a lot of…
Stupid comments
Every week when I read a music review or hear a clip on AV Club that I like, it always seems like I don't feel like buying it after I peruse the comments section. There I can read a bunch of comparisons to bands I hate (that I don't really think sound like the reviewed band to begin with) and hear over…
The rest of America would win, that's who.
A.V. Club Taste Test
Why don't you all do a Taste Test on that 8-years-expired Twinkie? I'd read with interest.
JTT's post got me thinking about what a wonderful piece of art it would be to loop footage of Bjork beating the crap out of reporters over "Earth Intruders." Why hasn't someone made that yet?
7 Seconds was definitely not the first to usher in punk covers, or even hardcore covers. Minor Threat did Steppin' Stone just a couple of years after the Pistols. But I digress.
Bob Geldof's on that list, too. I don't recommend his version either.
There's not really anything to indicate that Jesus knew he was going to come back from the realm of the dead. In fact, his prayer to the Father in Gethsemane reveals that he's actually kind of freaked out, i.e. frightened, about the whole concept—"If it's your will to take this cup from me, go ahead and do it, Big…
sounds great
I'm so glad this movie is getting a good rating here. Strummer's the one person I wish I would've gotten a chance to meet and discuss culture and politics. I think he's up there with Elvis in his contribution to popular music, testing the boundaries of different genres and getting people excited about…
my tax dollars
I kind of think I'd rather have my tax dollars go to something that actually encourages parents to *gasp* talk to their kids openly than to have the same dollars go to makin' bombs and killin' people. I wish people still got upset about that. There are worse things parents could tell their kids than…
Hey knowitalls
Could someone tell me if this sounds like every other album that's received an A- from the AV Club? 'Cause I liked all those albums. Thanks.
I think Lydon was on to something
I just watched the Snyder interview of Lydon and Levene. Lydon kept insisting that PiL was a company, not a band. They were pursuing many corporate interests that revolved around the production of music, but were not limited to, or even focused on, album output or playing live shows.…
Thank you CedarRoom
for answering my own stupid ask the AV Club question. I remember seeing the video for "Be There" one night years ago, not recognizing the song title or the vocals, but knowing it was an UNKLE track. I never saw it again until now and, pulling out my copy of Psyence Fiction, was able to easily…
I'm a resister
I beat Hatin' by a year. My first CD player came to me in 1998 as a standard feature on my Volkswagen Golf. In fact, it was/is a 6-disc changer. I couldn't even fill it when I picked it up from the lot. I still have the car, though the CD changer bit it a few years ago.
Delilah
I can usually rate a song based on how many measures of it I can bear to hear as I scan the radio. "Delilah" is the first song to garner a negative rating. That is to say, if I think that a station might be playing it, I won't stop on that station. I don't understand how you like it, Mr. Hyden.
