Don't think they were planning on making season 7 but I have read that the Yahoo Screen executives were interested in making more Community if this one is successful. Also Dan and the promotion haven't made it clear that this is the final season so I think their leaving the option for more open.

This episode was written by the series creator and Megan Ganz who wrote great episodes in Community season 2 & 3. Cool to see her bringing over high concept episodes to the more popular Modern Family.

Them actually leaving was laugh out loud funny for me. I wasn't expecting them to go "fuck this, lets get out of here". But yeah i'm quite tried of their shtick. It got old 3 seasons ago.
