I have not found persuasive that someone could get elected sheriff in a rural county when he is really someone else. The biggest plot hole of the season. Sheriff's are almost always lifelong residents.

I think the hyper critical people you complain about are being so because this is one of the finer shows on TV, especially in acting, and they are afraid it is slipping.
