The entire genre of reality TV is fundamentally exploitative. This is the grist of the show. Your ethical concerns are profoundly boring. 

I think people’s reaction to this show says more about them than about the show. Fielder is not just some lazy creator coming to this process saying essentially “look at these idiots.”

I’m no sure the author is getting the joke here. Nathan knows all of this stuff is insane and couldn’t possibly work.
