Originally, it was because she's super hot. But, in all honesty, there is something to be said for similar senses of humor. Not all interests need be shared, but if she refused to laugh at Homer's best lines, it would be over.

That line is one of the all-time classics. Absolutely classic writing and voice performance.

It sounds stupid, but the fact that my girl gets Simpsons allusions from the first eight seasons is a huge turn on.

What I like particularly about the writing on Seinfeld, is the playful nature with the English language. The writers had so much fun with specific words and phrasing, and American idioms. Just good writing and fun. I miss that in current comedies.
