I'm not saying it's a great book, but the fact that it was not nearly as much of a LotR clone as Sword made it a stronger book to me.

The first two trilogies definitely hold up. After that, it's hit or miss (with a lot more miss).

I think Elfstones holds up much better than Sword.

I think the Legends trilogy was even better than Chronicles. It was obvious that Weis and Hickman were growing as writers and were more confident in what they were doing. It also helped that it was more focused than Chronicles on just a few of the stronger characters.

I'm a huge fan of Death Gate.

Starshield. Those two books were good and I'm still upset that legal issues have prevented the release of the third book.
