I completely agree with everything being said about the first half of the season being better than the second half. Question: Did we know Jordan's last name (calla-halla-something) before tonight? If so, was it ever the subject of such comedic intent before? (I might be losing my mind, but I felt that they kept repeating his name/messing it up more than I had ever heard before — and I found it funny!)

If my recollection of one of those DVD "extras" is correct, the costume designers wanted Lorelai's wardrobe transformation to reflect the career growth she experienced throughout the series. Agree with everything here — though will note that I heard that McCarthy wrote some of her own SNL skits in her latest hosting gig. If that's true, she's contributing to that slovenly-dumb-clumsy image.
