The laundry scene had me so excited aswell, these emotional clusters are preparing Alicia for some sort of nervous breakdown. What a shame that the reason (a lost text message from Will confessing his love for her) is like something taken from the bold and the beautiful.

Also, I don't think Eli has the audacity to screw Peter over completely but just to jab him a little and not ruin his campaign altogether. I must say, we're learning a lot about Eli, he's devolved into school yard tactics this season.

Thats exactly what I was thinking! She should have said she had HIV and garnered sympathy from her family. Though I agree with the other commenters that she does not want to 'directly' lie to her family but still, imagine the awkward interactions and conversations that she would have to have and the eventual blow back…
