NBC? Fucking things up?
Really?

MBV
This is one of the many things I love about The AV Club; finding out that you weren't the only freshman in High School taping Dave Kendall every Sunday night and watching it throughout the week, and who got really into Ned's Atomic Dustbin as a result. It's amazing how many bands I got into because of that show

Hells yeah, Economisty. Way past the millennium.

Always be wary of bands with numbers in their name?
Um, I hope you've got seven and a half free minutes and a high tolerance for white blotter acid, because Galaxie 500 and Spacemen 3 would like a word with you.

Fine. Tina Fey plays Sarah Palin on SNL.
So who pays for it?

So is this
Based on the comics from a few years ago or the 1995 Kitchens of Distinction album?

I can think of a few reasons "Why Not" :
1. Unlike you, I do not, man, feel like a woman.
2. You are not, I'm afraid, still the one.
3. I regret to inform you that you an I were not, in fact, meant to fly.

I saw them in NYC right after 9/11. It made me not want to kill myself anymore.

Oh goodness, Coming Through Slaughter is one of my favorite books ever. Can we read that, AV Club? It's about the birth of jazz! We all like jazz, right?

Robert Olmstead
A Trail of Heart's Blood Wherever We Go.

YAY
Nicely done Zack, and I'm glad you're doing this. Lots of good (and bad) memories stirring.

Disappointed
I was hoping the "15 actors reference past roles" Inventory ran this week because it was going to be revealed that there was a scene in this film in which Zeus runs around Mt. Olympus punching everyone in the throat.

I haven't; I would love to see it! I'm referring to the regular 2+ hour version feeling rushed. Sorry if I did not make that clear.

Six Hour "The Thin Red Line"
Bring it. Seriously, I loved that movie. I actually thought it felt rushed. Malick's at his best when you let him just have as many long tracking shots of the landscape as he wants.

"Dominating this forum" would imply that you're contributing worthwhile things to the conversation.

Yeah, this was no good. I loved the Rankin & Bass versions of "The Hobbit" and "Return of the King" too, and never understood as a kid why the film version of the first two books were totally different. For the same reason why, as a kid, you never understand why Superman and Spider-Man don't team up like all the

Building Pharaoh's Ship
. . .was actually quite fascinating, but you can watch the whole thing online for free on NOVA's website:

At last! A Godzilla for the 10's!
I can't wait to see how they make him relevant for our times. Maybe he lost his job due to the tough economy, and he can't connect with his kids because his daughter's always on Facebook and his son is in an Emo band, and his wife is too busy trying to get that organic cupcake

Fast. No furious.

Well, everyone knows Custer died at Little Bighorn. What this book presupposes is… maybe he didn't.
