For a second I thought AVC was the first to break the news to me about the Supreme Court ruling on games as a protected medium of free speech. That's coming any day now; here's hoping common sense prevails.

I went to go see Even the Rain based on the AV Club review. Turns out it's about these Mexicans in the jungle and it wasn't even dubbed in English, can you BELIEVE that shit

Deus Ex: Human Revolution in August. Come to think of it, I never did play the original Deus Ex, I only watched friends play a couple areas. Maybe that would make a good lead-in…

I played it on a PC, and the controls were perfect. I wouldn't even want to try it with a console controller, but then I say that about every first-person game, so discount my opinion as much as you see fit.

The clip is blocked by Kadokawa on copyright grounds.

The new game from ACE Team, Chilean developer of Zeno Clash, about a boulder that rolls through different periods in art history and smashes everything. I guess he's going to play the boulder.

Angel's first season was also almost entirely crap. Worse than the campy monster-of-the-week formulas of Buffy's first season, because at least those had a rapidly coalescing group dynamic as the classic Scooby gang got used to their characters. Angel started with stupider monsters, a handful of mostly dull good guys,

GeoGreg was right!

Just drop your ongoing reactions into unrelated movie reviews and Newswire articles. It's not like anyone's going to be saying anything classy anyway.

Wow, if you think that guy's feminine, I advise you to never look up any East Asian male celebrities ever.

Vin Diesel is the D&D nerd, and The Rock is the guy who, I think he was a wrestler at one point?

Arbor III: Arbor Eat 'Em

ARBOR DAY

This is like when we had twelve movies all named "Nine" for some reason! That was great, I love that number.

So many people who haven't seen Casablanca! C'mon, it's a touchstone, if only for that immortal "Play it again, Sam," scene. I always choke up, knowing that Sam never will play it again.

I don't actually care for the Half-Life series as much as other Valve games. I mean, they're pretty great, and if I'm gonna play a first-person shooter I'd rather they be the ones in charge of it. But I enjoy the co-op mania of L4D and TF2, and the contemplation of Portal, much more than a straight-up shooting-things

Well, the Xbox 360 version has no connection to Steam. I'd never recommend anyone play a first-person game with a janky console controller, but if you can put up with that, you know, the option's there.

I remember playing Uncharted 1 and thinking, "Impressive, this writing actually rises about to the level of bad TV." Then I reflected further on what it meant for game writing standards when dialogue that sounded like it could feasibly show up in a generic TV movie counted as an accomplishment.

Single-player took me 17 hours. (I play games extremely leisurely.) Co-op is also taking much longer than probably necessary due to our compulsion to find fresh ways to grief each other. I got GLaDOS so mad at me! She docked me five thousand points, it was great.

For a couple weeks a while back (to hype up Steam/Valve games for Macs), its price tag wasn't practically free, it was free, period. So long as you were willing to install Steam, at least.
