Right? And it had a really nice arc to the Doctor where he goes from tortured and trying to redeem his faith in everything after the Time War and succeeding by Parting Of The Ways. It's tidy and sets the entire series up from then on.

SHUT THE FUCK UP @avclub-011d0b4fe6835bb3d37ef4e0ea713de6:disqus , YOU SPECTOPHOBE!

Cats is like vomiting on a copy of T.S Eliot.

Ok, you may have TV addiction.

You're the smart one in this conversation.

See I don't understand that. The 9th Doctor is a really charismatic and interesting one, and I think it helps he's a more modern and less eccentric.

Happy to help.

Oh dear, someone's never run into the great bores of the world, prescriptive grammar advocates who get very shirty about this have they?

It felt the kind of story that needed a big 'this changes things' moment for me, and it just took the easy way out.

One of us! One of us!

I agree with this. It's what I did with E.Buzz. Eccleston is good soft landing place for beginners as it holds the new viewer's hand just enough at the beginning.

I'm willing to bet they work a way out of the 12 regeneration thing (if it's even considered true) and it's never exactly been official anyway, just a random line that's been blown out of all context.

Love it.

I really can't get on board with Let's Kill Hitler, just because I find episodes where they feature real historical figures really distracting (exception being Vincent somehow).
The worst being Churchill in Victory Of The Daleks, but that's the least of that one's problems.

I felt it was a really good idea, but it just didn't turn out as good as it should.
I hated the ending sort of. It seemed such a cop-out and hackneyed.
Then for me all episodes about Amy and Rory and their 'cosmic romance for the ages' always are my least favorite anything.

This is what I mean too. I do like those moments sometimes where he almost gloats at how he's completely bamboozled someone by out-thinking them, but not so much in stories like this.

I would love that.

It was for the good of the universe.

tee hee.
