Season 4 started slow but really picked up steam as it progressed and older characters were slowly brought back.

I didn't see BVS, but watching the Flash and Supergirl that night was a wonderful corrective to a week or so of hearing about the (ultimately disappointing, but we didn't know that then) box office haul for that brutal, stupid movie.
