@avclub-eac75edc18b8546c46893fe4b75ab995:disqus By implicitly do you mean because she is Don's wife? The reel was all about her sexuality and looks. Megan did the same moves when she auditioned for Little Murders. Don just didn't see that.

Not to mention the column in his office.

I agree with you, I think, perhaps, that was the point of the "fairly exquisite" cut at the end. I wasn't sure what he said. I'd still like to think that any character can surprise you and that redemption is possible, even if it comes in unexpected ways. It would just be too dreary and pat if everyone ended up

I can see your point about the Bond music. If I knew the song I might have found it cheesy, but I don't and I found it really effective until the singing started. I just heard big, big movie music, that went beautifully with the shot.

It seems that one of the more obvious metaphors in this episode is Beauty and the Beast. It's an actual fairy tale that taught generations of women that, even though your husband may not look like much, if you're very good and do all the right things he'll turn out to be a prince.

Maybe if I watch it again the episode will hold together better, but it didn't really do much for me. I'm not in love with this season as many people seem to be it's been a season of incidental pleasures, good scenes here and there with some good acting, beautiful production design, great shots, pretty people in

I got the feeling that Peggy was satisfied. I'd have to watch it again but wasn't she smiling a bit when she sat on the bed to look at the file? It wasn't Paris but it was her project and she's finally getting recognized for her work.

I thought she might get out of the box by going into the Avatar state. I hope they're saving it for the finale.

There were garage door openers for years before computers became common. I just looked it up and they were invented in 1926. They used radio waves. Google Books has an article about the device from Popular Science, February, 1931.

Would the fact that Katara did bloodbending one time be common
knowledge? It was outlawed and is probably something you would keep
quiet about as a member of the White Lotus Society and a respectable matron.
