Really it becomes a problem when your are watching epics that have grand set-pieces.  But it still drives me crazy to watch a movie in an improper aspect ratio.

The worst violators of this are those that stretch 4:3 ratio to 16x9 just so it fills the screen.  Nevermind the people in the film are now wider than the are tall at least they don't have to look at black bars on the sides of the screen, God forbid.
