I liked Doyle's Sweeney Todd, but I felt his Company was very Emperor's New Clothes. Not only was the concept obvious and trite (Bobby can't play an instrument till the end of the show!) - the total opposite of the unexpectedness of his concept for Sweeney - Raul's performance was all surface mannerisms, IMO.
