Oh, I hated 8 Femmes. I thought it was so dumb and the song choices and placement made no sense at all. I was really primed to like it, but compared to Jacques Demy's classic screen musicals (and Alain Resnais's recent Pas Sur la Bouche), it's a terrible movie and musical.

The Spike Lee filmed version is also on streaming netflix in 720p. Not as good as blu-ray, but better than the DVD looks by far.

I wish there were an HD edition coming soon, but the DVDs are cheap enough I would encourage you to buy them. My parents bought them when they first came out, and paid about $120 for the whole set.

I did see the show on stage twice.

Scott gives short shrift to the new special features. But those ET Journals - an hour's worth of behind-the-scenes home movie footage - are some of the best special features I've ever seen on any DVD or BD. Watching Spielberg interact with Thomas and Barrymore, seeing what the kids were like when the cameras weren't

@avclub-a2c32a52e9e6fbbbd65de06efa591903:disqus He did, although you can still see some of that terrible CGI in the deleted scenes included.

I do watch that! And love it!

One time I saw a musical about Kaspar Hauser. The best part was when the chorus intoned his name very quickly over and over again.

It is very true that she was nice to everyone even though she didn't have to be. I was a freshman and she was a senior, and I still remember that I very shyly introduced myself to her and told her how much I enjoyed her performance as Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest. She thanked me, invited me to a theatre
