I cannot believe that Chuck Norris is 72. It just seems more and more unfair that Marvin Hamlisch was taken away from us so soon.

Oh hai Mark.

I actually enjoyed this episode more than last week's, which felt like the definition of filler to me. For once, I actually was interested in McClaren and his personal life, and that's a huge step up by itself. My biggest problem was the last scene with Patty and her dad - talk about build-up to a big nothing. This

I actually agree with a lot of this, although I have liked the last four episodes more than you, apparently. We need forward motion NOW with Nick and Abby's storylines. The past few weeks have been just cliched wheel-spinning.

I am almost positive she was lying. I can't believe that she actually lost her baby. But I don't know.

I usually go to sleep after watching TV. I don't have time to comment until I come to work the next morning.

I had the great fortune to meet and perform for Marvin Hamlisch a few years ago, at his 65th birthday. It was a huge honor, since I'm very familiar with all of his musicals and a good deal of his film work. He was funny, friendly, and probably the greatest composer I've ever met in person. I also spent quite a bit of

I wasn't around in the 70s, but from what you've written, I'd say you never actually met Mr. Hamlisch. He was a warm, funny man, prone to hammy gregariousness, but it suited him, and he always made you feel like he cared about the conversation he was having with you.

To each their own, but listen to the basic chord structures of those songs, on a piano, played simply. They might never be your taste, but they are as far away from "You Light Up My Life" as possible. Hamlisch was a great musician and understood how to write a pop song that wasn't just I-IV-V chords over and over

He was very heterosexual. He told me about how he used to bring dates to A Chorus Line in the '70s, and after they saw the show, they'd gush about how they loved it, and he'd lean in and say, "I wrote that, baby." (When he told that story, it was hilarious.)
