Rose McGowan is good for many roles that require her to be sexy and/or fierce. Roles that require her to have some sort of emotional connection to another human being (or quip wittily) are not her strong suit.

And of course, there is a Broadway musical based on The Thin Man titled Nick and Nora. It starred Barry Bostwick, Joanna Gleason, and Chris Sarandon. And it was a huge flop.

Great episode, but a lot of little typos in this write-up - referring to Nate as a "she", "especially mysterious a few weeks ah", missing quotation marks in the Stray Observations…

Yeah, I definitely think that the movie judges him for betraying his position as her professor/employer/mentor, rather than for being old.

Well, the AV Club doesn't really do theatre in general. I mean, you could do a Random Roles with Victor Garber that only consisted of theatre roles, since the stage is really where he's a star.

Cinderella's a fairy tale. The casting didn't bother me at all. (I mean, the acting in some of the roles bothered me, but not the ethnicities.) I thought The Music Man had much weirder racial casting - at times it seemed to be "colorblind", but then at other times, the black piano player was playing ragtime music, and…

Agreed, except for the fact that he only played it for three weeks to a 99-seat house, so practically no one actually saw it. Luckily, his two big scenes were recorded for the cast album.

I once took a class
Where we had to bring in a clip of a movie that we thought was absolutely hilarious.

A quick googling of Berenstain Bears show that Christian Berenstain Bear books were created for a Christian publishing company. Secular classics like Berenstain Bears and Computer Trouble are still being published by HarperCollins.

As a newcomer to the show, I found the quality of Season 2 to be quite a bit superior than Season 1.

Can I ask a question without seeming like a perv? Is Firecest ever right? Because I've gotten ahead of this recap a bit, and in some episodes, Azula and Zuko do seem a little closer than normal siblings. There is definitely chemistry between their voice actors.

@Oscar Leroy - hee hee.

SPOILERS continuing.

the best thing about "Awakening"
This was pointed out by the recapper at Television Without Pity many moons ago, but "Awakening" basically plays like a parody of Buffy's season finales by this point. So now whenever I watch it, I basically laugh uncontrollably at certain scenes (Wesley's stuff in particular.)

Sorry for the double post.

No one mentioned Everwood??
I love that show. Of course, there was lots to complain about while it was on, but it was good and smart enough to be worth complaining about.

Agreed. Much better than the current Broadway production. Although I wonder what he means by "period-type filmmaking." To me, the film is pretty clearly an intentional late-60s period piece.

That's true, and I honestly watch the show cause I enjoy spending time with the characters, but I was responding to O'Neal's comment about giving the creative team time to end it properly.
