Somebody tell that guy that the review finally mentioned that Offerman is on one of these shows. So he can rest easy.

It still doesn't make it the most important piece of information about these two shows premiering utilizing a brand new format.

That Gad Elmaleh episode started weak but I was laughing pretty good by the end.

I loved it when Seinfeld said Sarah Silverman was like a sock puppet and then tried to turn that into a compliment.

It does make a good point about some old guard directors whining about how hard it is to get movies made. Because for everyone else it's a super easy waterslide of problem-free happy times.

Still sounds to me like you're blaming all the ills on one senator because he also has a side-project going on.

And then I'd pay less taxes? What a weird argument.

I can dig that.

Exactly. I was also saying it was no biggie. Just not in so many words. I was trying to say that D'Angelo's comment "try to cope" was a little snarky. I don't think you got what I was trying to convey.

And we're giving you feedback. It's not like you didn't invite this. You could have reviewed any one of this "comes out this week" titles, but you chose the one you didn't like. Say, The Ice Storm, which I understand is a more defensible selection.

Complaining about Justin Timberlake being unoriginal right next to a joke about The Smurfs sequel being called The Squeakquel. I mean, it's RIGHT NEXT TO IT!

He knew what I meant. He's just disagreeing on semantics.

Those numbers are ridiculous. A typical household pays $40 a month? Get me THAT cable service!

What's wrong with a movie belonging to a larger universe? It still has to work as a stand alone film. Which every one of the Marvel films do. This review seems like someone whining over a problem that doesn't exist. And yet another backhanded slap at the extremely fun Iron Man 3 that Dowd already spit vitriol at for

I'm with you a hundred percent. But you get what I'm saying.

That's just not true. TCM is movies already owned by Ted Turner. All they pay for is hosts and crew (and a research team, I'm sure). AMC has original programming, sure. But they would be fine if they stayed on their little programming blocks as well as stream for us people online who don't want cable and are willing

I'm a D'Angelo fan, but the implication that a quiet film can't be vital, or that a film must be shocking or bust you out of your comfort zone to be good is narrowminded. There's a whole slew of Ozu films that prove this to be untrue.

Well, the current system works for you.

I don't play that "politician doing this when this is going on" game. I saw Obama eating ice cream on National Ice Cream Day! Doesn't he know there's a WAR going on!?

Why not? When you buy a bottle of milk you aren't forced to pay extra and take home a bottle of orange juice. It's better for consumers because you pay for what you want. And if it's too expensive or the programming is no good, people will stop paying for the service. Basically what Netflix deals with now.
