Agreed. I think a lot of the spoofiness must be intentional- like the electric armour thing the bad guy gets into at the end, which bears a strong resemblance to the one in Stephen Chow's Bond spoof From Beijing With Love.

But he's blooooooooooooooooond! If Fleming wanted Bond to be blond, he would have called him Blond! James Blond. Licence to klill.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely enjoyed it… I just don't recall finding it that surreal or anti-comedic or anything.

The comedy value made that a rare example of it working, I think. Similar to the bizarre scene last season where he's shown the serial killer game- "You can be the Bay Harbour Butcher" "I AM the Bay Harbour Butcher."

I think the voice-over was worse tonight, though. Endless narration of what we've just seen/are currently seeing.

Key question: how many people in it are actually good at martial arts? How is RZA's kung-fu? Because, presuming you shoot it well, you don't need people to be skilled to make it a decent ACTION film, but a kung-fu film is a different matter.

I recall Kiss of the Dragon being leagues better than Romeo Must Die. Plus Jet Li kills a man with a billiard ball… or maybe just knocks him out. Either way, billiard ball!

Can we also give him Doom Guy's running skills? I want to see a dude running at double Usain Bolt speed while carrying eight different weapons.
