A remix of Justice that adds the bass track and gives the drums a little more presence would end any debate about Metallica's best album.

I'm of the same mind. After the first time through I thought that was just a cop out ending to make everyone feel better, but the more I think about it the scene in the psychiatrist's office seems to be the key to that ending. Everyone now knows the gravity of the situation. I agree HarbingerOfDuh, the storm is…
Ladies and Gentlemen is probably one of the greatest combinations of packaging and content in the rock and roll era. I have a "friend" who paid a ridiculous amount of money for that 12 disc set. It is just a monster album, in any format.
I believe what you are referring to is known as the Helsinki Syndrome.
Agreed on From Elvis in Memphis, it's an absolutely solid record. I have always wondered what the fan reaction must have been like at the time. Here was a guy who was a legend, but hadn't put out anything worth listening to in several years. Then he gets the NBC special followed up by FEIM. It had to shock the kids…
Embarrassingly enough I have Bush to thank for introducing me to the Buzzcocks. I saw Bush at 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis on their first tour and Gavin Rosdale talked them up during the encore because they had played there a few weeks earlier. Yes, I have the lead singer of Bush to thank for getting me into the…
More importantly, When?
I first heard Music for 18 Musicians about three years ago, and in that time it has become one of my favorite pieces of music. It was also the first piece of "classical" music that made me understand how different recordings of a piece are necessary to really get into it. I love the Ensemble Modern and Grand Valley…
I've been thinking this exact same thought since I clicked on the link. I visit this site every day, have a huge collection of music that is playing at all times, and yet I almost never agree with the music reviews here. Albums I find to be just meh get huge accolades (Civilian, Bon Iver, Bon Iver, Days).
Part of me…
I'm with you on that Tune-Yards album, it really surprised me how much I enjoyed it. My Country, Gangsta, Powa and especially Bizness were all favorite tracks for me this year.
Uncut has it at 39.
Yeah, this is a great moment, but it's actually the same scene. The crystal causes an EMP (I assume) that causes the dock between the shuttle and the airplane to fail. Basically it was the only worthwhile 10 minutes in that film, but it was a great 10 minutes.
The Space Shuttle/Airliner rescue in Superman Returns is one of my favorite action scenes ever put to film. That movie was a hot mess, but that part is just about as good as a CGI sequence can get. I catch that movie 2 or 3 times a year on FX, and always make sure to tune in about a half hour in just to catch that…
Gonna agree with Literate Man here. Toys is a movie 12 people remember and nine of them thought it was good.
I think you could pare 69 Love Songs down to a single album that is better than Get Lost, but the only song I remember from GL is Smoke and Mirrors. I prefer Holiday to either of them.
