I always just read it as like a story of ice and fire. like a ballad of ice and fire. at first just because of the long summers and winters, and then dragons and zombies and white walkers oh my show up and it becomes a little more present in the narrative.

Absolutely. but i do not have as a big a fondness for the finales as most people, with the last season being the first I watched as it aired. I remember "I don't have a contract" most fondly of all of them though. and that might not have even been in the finale for all i know.
