Damn it. I was watching on CTV and getting totally caught up in the elimination race and then the Canadian got eliminated and they cut away and never came back.

There was an interview segment with her, during which they showed the end of the gold medal match with BBC commentary over it.

I thought it was slightly better coverage than the men's all around, in that at least we got to see every routine by four competitors, and three by a fifth. But then, yeah, that unwillingness to put up the numbers for Komova's floor exercise was inexcusably annoying.

I think we learned more about Leyva's towel than we did about any other competitor in the gymnastics competition.

@Citric and @avclub-ecdad63d6e48ab214fff74cf45ce7dcf:disqus , got it. This explains the prime time show, which seemed even more clip-show-y than I was expecting. (And kind of spoiler-y.)

On #3, yeah, that was odd. I'd have expected it to be all or nothing. This was interesting, though, because it made me wonder about why, really, they were doing it this way. I suspect that they had Eliana dance a solo not because she was in danger of elimination, but because the partnership with Cyrus means that…

Thirded on #4. I suppose in principle Will and Amelia had hip hop their first week, but it was the least hip-hoppy hip hop ever.

I've assumed that they have a bunch of ideas lined up for the season, and then pull them out with tweaks depending on who they get each week. I have no clue if this is accurate, but I can't imagine it's not something like that.
I think he's unique and spectacular at his thing, but is turning out to be a Philip Chbeeb, not a Twitch, when it comes to doing other things. Though I think he's more charming than Philip was, so at least there's that.
