this comment has to be a joke surely? 1995-1999??? OK so I'm British and was a teenager during this period, so the times were glorious for me, but can we sincerely doubt the quality of these albums released during this period?

of all the articles on here, this is the one that I went to without having any interest in seeing David Hasselhof, David Hasselhof in a pantomime, or indeed any pantomime. And was also about to mention the Manchester thing. You're like me but 1 hour in the future.

think your spot on with your analysis Dirk - this album absolutely is not the polished arena rock that the Foos have been releasing ever since. This album is downright dirty in places - I mean can you imagine a song like Weenie Beenie appearing on any of their subsequent albums? The whole lo-fi approach is exactly

I couldn't agree more, it clearly wasn't a joke that in any way was poking fun at Sikh's. Hell it was barely even a joke. Stop being so fucking hyper sensitive.

no offence but your parents sound like cunts.

Thatchers state funeral would cost £3 million? for £3 million you could give every person in Scotland a shovel and they could dig a hole so deep they could hand her over to Satan personally.

I presume this is some sort of humour because The Full Monty was of course set in Sheffield but I just never know anymore.

in fairness 24 Hour Party People was a film about Tony Wilson not "Madchester". You'd hardly call Joy Division a Madchester band.

Round Are Way was a b-side on the Wonderwall single actually, but you get a point for "Whatever" (which was their only non-album single until Lord Don't Slow Me Down)

although they are often associated with Madchester I've never really understood why. "Madchester" was about a fusion of rock and dance, but really the Roses only have one tune which fits that bill (Fools Gold) whereas their debut was very much a 60's jangly album with little evidence of any dancey beats. I much more

it seems unlikely to me that they really give a shit about the US having never done well there originally anyway. They are a British band, who are revered in Britain, and are returning with huge shows in Britain. The US can stick with Creed or Lady Antebellum or whatever shit you listen to.

my guess is she heard that Second Coming was shit so never bothered listening to anything from it.

Automatic is probably their best album, IMO, but if you want a jumping off point I'd recommend Green from their Warner years. If you like the big rock songs from it (Orange Crush, Turn You Inside Out) you can seek out Monster and NAIHF. If you like the quiter acoustic/mandolin stuff (You Are The Everything, Hairshirt,

I think Collapse is pretty solid, but for me Accelerate is good enough to sit up their amongst their golden era (i.e. Murmur through to NAIHF). I was worried when they didn't tour the latest album as it seemed a sign they weren't that arsed, but still the news is suprising. They seemed to be back on the up after the

Country Feedback in it's live iteration is astoundingly good. My favourite song of theirs by a country (pun) mile

Two Thousand And Six vs. Two Thousand Six
this was actually something that I have noticed with Americans in that they always leave out the "and" and say it the Louis CK way. In Britain you always include the "and" which makes far more sense to me. It is the other way of saying it which sounds like two seperate

Amy is now in a much worse place than if she'd have been able to kick her habit .p.s. there is no such thing as heaven.
