This game isn't really based on a movie - the Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash really took place. Actually, more than once - 4 times in the 1970s, a bunch of guys who are as nerdy about cars as we are about pop culture drove from Connecticut to California in little more than a day.

Am I crazy? I like Moving Pictures a lot - not as much as a book, but as a funny Hollywood send-up, especially if you knwo the history - and Soul Music is one of my favourites too. They're both a bit too meta, I get that, but stuff like Thud! is far less readable to me.

Except that there are still many, many things that the Madden series gets wrong, and they never seem intent on fixing them. How about procedural, dynamic animations? That would make a huge difference

Madden also has a stat bug where certain stats never increase or decrease. It's actually different in different years/versions of the game, but usually speed/acceleration can NEVER be improved, so do the Al Davis and sort by 40 time.
