God help me, I always had a soft spot for 2001's "Bad Boy for Life."

I honestly wondered if maybe they screwed up during production and didn't realize it until later.  Ie, perhaps they wrote it as 25 years ago (which I think is actually when the Baby Jessica case happened), animated the Reagan scene, and then it dawned on them that Fran couldn't possibly be 25 so they redubbed the

I think I've read that he's just a giant asshole and impossible to work with, so much so that nobody wants to even bother with him anymore.  I'd also assume he must have some sort of standards still, since I'd think he'd still be getting offers to be in direct-to-video crap and whatnot even if he *is* the biggest dick

I could never quite get the attachment since I'd seen John Carpenter's adaptation of Stephen King's "Christine" long before HA came out, and I could only picture the old man (Roberts Blossom) as his lecherous old man character in that flick.  "She had the smell of a brand new car.  That's just about the finest smell

We can't let this one sink to obscurity on the last page, we must know more!  Regale us with Stories of Schneider!

Heh, I had a 3-disc '70s compilation like this (which I bought without realizing they were "fake" versions).  It ranged from versions that were virtually indistinguishable from the real thing to '80s dance versions of songs like "The Night Chicago Died" and live recordings with a completely different lead singer.

And incidentally, Al Jean loves to point out how impossible this is on virtually every Simpsons commentary track where it happens in an episode.

Yep, just chiming in to register appreciation of that one too.  Like Josey Wales Motor Sales said, there's always just been something haunting about it to me ever since I first heard it in my 20s and now that 40's getting closer and closer it hits even harder.

Sure, but the problem is how often have you heard one of these re-recordings that actually sounded very much like the original?  They *try*, sure, but rarely succeed.  To use an example, KISS did one of these a few years ago, but the songs have never turned up in anything (as far as I know) except a Dr. Pepper

I don't really understand how it works entirely either, but the label would at least still own the original recording.  I don't really see how they could reclaim publishing rights either if they had sold them off at some point.
