But something DID come of the Mary Murder this season. The last few episodes were focused on Coleman and Yael uncovering it, and Rachel and company trying to shut them up. It may not have be a murder arrest, but there still were consequences that had stakes and posed trouble for people.

I honestly don't understand this insane obsession with making characters relatable. The success of shows like Breaking Bad have proven that they don't even have to be likable. It's because of this idea that so many great stories have never been told.

I hope it's just a flashback sequence. I don't know how exciting a pilgrim-set season of American Horror Story will really be.

Honestly, I find his storyline so boring and shoehorned in, that I'm hoping Booth is secretly up to some shady shit.

The ironic thing is that awesome Vulture interview actually made me want to watch this guy's show, which I previously had zero interest in.

Tit?!

The Doug Wilson comparison is spot on. The Chet storyline just feels inorganic and contrived, like they had to find something for Craig Bierko to do. Much like the Weeds storylines.

I'm loving this season, but I really hope the Chet storyline won't dominate too much of the show.

I empathize with what she's gone through, but does she have anything else to talk about?

I'm surprised Phantom hasn't had a critical reevaluation in recent years. Everybody I've shown it to has come away loving it.

Yeah, Wasson sunk the first half of Body Double until Melanie Griffith came along to inject some life back into it. I could tell that De Palma was going for a Jimmy Stewart type with him.

Whenever I argue the merits of De Palma as filmmaking giant, I always point to the scene in Carrie where Sue Snell asks Tommy Ross to take Carrie to the prom. De Palma filmed it all in a long tracking shot that followed the characters from behind a set of bleachers. It's essentially an expositional, nothing scene. But

I think Body Double hasn't had the critical reappraisal that it deserves mainly due to the fact that it had a bland-as-Borscht leading man and the first hour is a bit of a slog. But from the drill kill onwards (and the introduction of Melanie Griffith, giving a career-best performance), the rest of the film is a

I'd also argue that the horror movie parody at the beginning of the film is the most brilliantly realized slasher movie of the 1980s, despite its brief running time.

Elaine Hendrix?

Sunny's a show that's always been hit-or-miss though, since about the second season. Every season I go in thinking that if there are a handful of episodes I like, then it's a success.

I don't know about that. I met the guy once. Maybe it was an bad day, but he was a complete prick. It was really disappointing because I was such a Robert Englund fan.

True. Although if they insist on recasting Freddy in an upcoming installment, I think the British actor Ian Hart would do a terrific job.

What was the previous remake you're referencing?

Am I the only one who's kinda disappointed to see another great young actor get locked into a long-term contract to make the same movie over and over again?
