Huh. I actually really liked this episode in large part due to Peretti. I certainly wouldn't put this episode in the same "Annoying" category as the Chris Gore episode. But to each his own.

I wasn't sure what to expect with Nancy & Beth, but wow, that second song (In the Cool of the Day, I think?) was a legitimately awesome song.

Agreed. I was ready to skip this episode of TAL, but I threw it on as background noise and got quickly sucked into the Anthony story. Thankfully that made up the majority of the episode, too. I ended up turning off the rhyming segment and just pretended this was a good 40-minute episode of TAL.

Bringing out Brody Stevens felt like bringing out Lisa Simpson to sing "Grand Ol' Flag" to diffuse/distract from the awkwardness.
