No shame there. I don't like their music, but what a show. It's the only concert that I've been to that had an entire plot. It really grounded the use of the crap-a-pault, knowing its context in the story they were sharing with us.

Kulap's laugh can be a bit shrill and piercing, but she's the perfect person to be in the room with Howard, who is amazing. And Wittels is by far one of my favorite podcast guests/hosts.
I liked how Scott would work himself into a improv corner and Mantzoukas wouldn't help him. Even Dalton said at one point, "Seems like it would have been pretty easy to say 'yes' to that one" after Scott yelled at Jason for not bailing him out. Great, great episode.
I actually thought that Kaling was defensive. Marc asked a question about the writing process of a show like The Office and she seemed to bristle at a barb that wasn't there. This was one of the few times where I got the sense that Maron was being friendly, if not mildly disengaged, and the guest was the one who was…
I saw The Misfits one or two performances before they parted ways with Michale Graves. That was terrible (judgment of entire Graves-era aside). They clearly hated each other and it devolved to the point where Jerry and Doyle were pulling people up from the crowd to have them sing, pushing Graves to the back. It was…
There's nothing like laughing at Ice T telling Gillsy that they "don't have time for a ride-along right now" to make you aware that you're now precariously holding a 50-pound weight over your skull.
I'm sort of saddened that I might have officially hit my threshold for enjoying new MATES episodes. That was by far one of my favorite podcasts back when it started, but after that big hiatus when they were signing on with Nerdist I can't help but notice that the show feels sort of repetitive and stale. Perhaps…
This week's Comedy Bang Bang showed me that it may not be the best idea to listen to a comedy podcast while working out. Ice T's new show damn near killed me. That was a great return to form, and even made me overlook my personal aversion to Greg Proops.
I agree that the conversation didn't need to center around Parks and Rec or Party Down/Will and Grace/Children's Hospital, but I also think that this was kind of a dud of an episode. The conversation didn't really go anywhere, didn't really go all that deep anytime, and they were both sort of low energy during the…
I also enjoyed what I can only assume was a misfired Ctrl+c in the HDTGM? write-up:
I was usually a pretty big fan of VM's guest star casting decisions, but man, Rider Strong (and Jonathan Taylor Thomas as the most ridiculous undercover ATF agent ever) really hurt this episode for me.
Exactly. The show is clearly even less structured than normal, what with the TV show taking up most of Hot Saucerman's time, so they're really relying on lightning to strike in the improv. Adding the kid (and even the dad, to a certain extent) just kind of dragged everything down and killed any chance of momentum.
This was an interesting episode. Not content-wise (for me), but it was interesting because I got the sense that Marc kind of just wanted to shit all over the guy for stooping to stripping during his show (you know, Marc's comedy is the real, enlightened kind, in case he hasn't mentioned it), kept trying to bait Big…
Agreed. I think Busey could have gone to much better places than it did if Wain's kid wasn't in the studio (extra points to whoever took the keyboard out of the room after his kid started playing with it). They almost got something good rolling with the birds that take his adopted children's eyes, but nothing really…

Minus Veronica going to the rapiest college this side of Rapetown.
I agree. Usually a Wittels' appearances make CBB a must-listen for me, but this week was like listening to candy-addled kids with ADD giggle into the microphone for the first 20 minutes. At least the character stuff sort of focused them; I found that part to be more tolerable and funny (I did enjoy the three white…
I believe they'er a prop comedy band.
This is an easy problem to solve: unplug Ellen's internet.
Think of it more like a diary entry. That statement was Dave Mustaine's doodling of Santorum's name with a heart around it. He would never officially say it out loud, but in his heart he's all "DM+RS 4 EVA".
