It really is an amazing place. The food and the music are so fuckin' good. It really is like this weird enclave of American culture where it's something other than Wal-Marts and McDonalds all the time (I'm sure they have their fair share of those, too, it's just that they've got a lot more).
Have you ever been to New Orleans? Not asking with an agenda. I have, just this year, in fact. And it was amazing. The music scene is all that Treme shows it to be. Live music everywhere. I'm not sure how a tv show FEATURING those performances can ever hope to stack up to the real thing.
Gave up on this after a season and a half. I just kept wishing it was as good as The Wire. Sorry, I know some of you think that's an invalid comparison, but that's the only reason I watched the show. Plus I thought the blonde lady's parents looked like 4 years older than her and that was annoying.
But without the early 90s, we wouldn't have those Temple of the Dog records!
But there's all these great books and movies and shit. Why would you waste time on a tv show that's almost good?
I would say it's the perfect example of why this show doesn't deserve an audience.
Harmony Korine would seem to fit that description.
Fuck did they do?
It should have been you, The Simpsons.
Tosser.
Pretty sure it's "Don't fuck THIS up, Mitchell!"
"Goes outside"?
Exactly. People liked Austin Powers movies until they didn't.
It's unbelievable to me that Adam McKay—the guy behind seemingly all of those shitty Will Ferrell movies—can be considered an "elitist" in any sense.
If most readers think it, why does it need to be acknowledged? ACTUALLY, it's just part of an annoying trend in writing to use colloquialisms in pseudo-journalism pieces. All of the Gawker sites use it too. I resent the bandwagon-jumping more than the verbiage.
The concept is "Breaking Bad on Ice". It doesn't need any help from "actually" to sound stupid.
Everybody hates you, which is why you're a failure at everything.
Stay out of my territory.
Why are the words "actually" and "kind of" in the title? Are you under the impression that more words=better than?
