Afternoon Delight is one of my all time favorites, but I also remember the first time I watched it thinking that there was no way Arrested Development was doing poorly in the ratings because it was "too smart."  It's a bunch of dick jokes and a man in a banana suit.  I can't imagine anything more universally hilarious.

I was planning on getting drunk with some girlfriends (we can drink in the theaters where I live) and seeing this, because the whole idea of it just seems so ridiculous I need to see for myself.  The girls name is Sherry Christian!!!  So when they sing songs with "Sherry" and "Christian" in them, it applies!

I agree, but I will say that there is one element of that speech that has stuck with me, and that is when he compares Liz to a badger and his fiance to a deer.  "She runs, she sniffs, she leaps!" and Liz does none of those things.

Me too, and from the second I saw it, I've wanted to actually execute it in real life.  I thought it was such a perfect way to shut down an excruciatingly ridiculous argument, and I am present for SO MANY

I could very well be mis-remembering, but I feel like the Barney/Robin relationship was written from the very beginning to not work.  I thought they were dysfunctional from the word go, as opposed to legitimately trying it, and having all of the fans hate it, and then dropping it.
