I don't at all buy the argument that Frank's decision to take the fall for Carl was based on self-interest because he wants the three-hots-and-a-cot arrangement of prison. I don't buy it for two reasons. One is that we've seen multiple examples of Frank going to great pains to avoid getting caught for stuff like

Totally. Debbie is my favorite character too…

I wanted to believe it too, since it's clear she'll always be part of this universe. She'll always be lurking out there, waiting to come back and annoy the hell out of me.

Interesting…

So fascinating that we had literally the opposite progression with the character, because I really, really couldn't stand him at first. You raise an interesting point as far as Fiona and V's relationship. It's almost as though she's being intentional in her lack of reciprocity with Steve. I could absolutely see

I don't need Dexter to be a good person. I do need to understand his motivations. The Dark Passenger, as sloppy and loosey-goosey as the concept has been handled over the years, made me understand why Dexter behaved the way he did in spite of the risk and consequences. Taking that out of the equation is risky, to put

I have to admit that this is a particular device I always have trouble with, particularly when it's employed frequently, and/or with multiple dead characters. It just confuses the hell out of me, particularly when Ghost Harry is trying to explain Deb's feelings to him, or here where he's explaining that he wasn't the

I loved "Off to See the Wretched," it's one of my favorite episodes. It just wasn't representative of the show for this particular exercise. What's weird about that episode for me now is that it demonstrates that the writers basically retooled the Vanessa character when she went to college.

There weren't as many "Let's see what Claire is doing at work" episodes as there were with Cliff, but that's because Cliff was the main character. I think the show very clearly portrayed that Claire had lawyer stuff going on.

I, Spy had been a modest hit, but it was followed by two more Cosby-led shows The Bill Cosby Show and Cos, both of which flopped. So by that time he was starting to look like damaged goods, but his stand-up work reversed the tide.

I'm glad that they were willing to state without equivocation that Patty ordered the hit on Ellen. I was more than a little annoyed at the time that they were willing to turn that basic fact of the story into a question mark. But I ultimately like the way they executed it, particularly because with Patty continuing to

Eh…I don't really buy this. I do think the show has advanced the tired idea that a woman has to choose between motherhood and career, and that choosing career is the "wrong" choice. That said, it's an idea the show has been playing with since the very first season. That's not a defense of what the story implies, it

That really did look unbelievably bad. I watch screeners (I don't have DirecTV) so I'm always scared to slam stuff like that for fear that I'm watching a pre-air version and it'll look better when it actually airs. I guess not!
