Ah, critics, throwing their little pebbles at the people who actually create art.

Streetfighting Man was based on Dancing In The Streets. Late '60s protest song based on early 60's anthem of freedom; makes sense.

Bryan Singer made some pretty pretentious, lifeless X-films, while Ratner's 3 is at least fun like a comic book movie should be. Sure, it's not the 'Ratner's the Anti-Christ' party line, but it's just true.

Klugman in the "In Praise Of Pip" episode probably delivers the most powerful tv performance ever.

Can critic say the word 'Kafka?'

Saw this at the Lensic in Santa Fe many times in '96. Enchanting venue for an equally enchanting film ("The only thing I know about art is Kirk Douglas as Vincent Van Gogh.")

Just as Albuquerque came to notoriety thanks to Breaking Bad, so El Paso five hours south gets its day in the tv sun thanks to the border slayings and cartel violence. NM and West Texas; we're one to grow on.

Wasn't the HC chord progression ripped from a band named Sponge they toured with?

What about In The City, the last-minute Walsh filler for The Long Run from the Warriors soundtrack?  As obscure as the rest of these but possessed of more integrity than a thousand Hotel Californias strung together.

At least I brought up the Bergman influence in the first place. The illiterate critic the AV hired missed it entirely. You're welcome.

Everyone said Woody was trying to copy Ingmar Bergman on Interiors (self-serious characters gazing out windows, working out family traumas), but considering most people only know Bergman from Death playing chess in the Seventh Seal, this was a canny source to steal from.

Will fly into drunken rages and eat raw meat as well? Why not just unfreeze a caveman and have it bang rocks together? Same effect.

Always thought, 'Wow, the daughter they drop off for college at the movie's start will have quite a few surprises when she gets home for break.'

Winterlu is great.

Thanks, typical nobody on the comment board who will never create anything in their life.

Here's my alt-comic (the link which will undoubtedly be deleted because the AV staff prefers its commenters to be yammering creative eunuchs):

And yet here you ended up on the AV Club.

In this video you can hear the Stones sing a fragment of the song while playing El Paso in '06 during their 'Bigger Bang' tour:
