I get that. I'm just also concerned that we'll snark ourselves to death because it's easy, and then nobody knows or cares that we've slashed even more fossil fuel regulations because we're laughing at some ill-advised tweets.

In fairness, the only practical thing I've done since the election is march this weekend. But also in fairness, I did help register people to vote before the election.|

I'm not really trying to say that I want the A.V. Club to become a website for investigative journalism, my original comment was really just me venting a frustration at the the way so much of the discourse I have seen so far has amounted to people in my age bracket and of my political persuasions snarkily trumpeting

Unfortunately, I spend most of my life feeling smug about many things at once. But I'm legitimately concerned that we're spending so much time making fun of Kelly Anne's outfit and Trump's inauguration attendance numbers, but strangely quiet about the fact that Trump just increased the cost mortgage insurance.

Getting smug about this is a distraction from all the things we should really be outraged about.

Oh , there were albums I owned before then. Those are merely the first that I paid for myself.

James Bond, Jr. forever makes me angry for being swapped into the time slot that had been used for syndicated Hanna-Barbera Godzilla. Blast you, regional programmers!

I had it on cassette. The first CD I ever bought, I can admit only shamefacedly, was Smash Mouth's Astro Lounge. The first album I ever bought was The Bangle's Greatest Hits on cassette, which I feel much better about.

You're being so dismissive of their oeuvre, I'm worried I'll lose all of my AV Club credibility if I admit that I love the album Pocket Full of Kryptonite.

Trinity screams, "Please acknowledge us!"

As someone who believes that The Nylon Curtain is Joel's best album, I heartily approve of your list. However, I think I like Laura, Surprises, and Scandinavian Skies better than the other three songs you have on yours.

Genesis - "The Carpet Crawlers"

It's true! We're so lame!

I used to live across the street from a Jack in the Box, and I ate a ton of bacon ranch tacos in those dark days. Yes, you read it correctly: bacon ranch tacos. They were actually pretty good, even if I felt crippling shame every time I got them.

Ha, I also post on a message board where the same guy has been putting Zsa Zsa Gabor in his annual celebrity death pool posting for years. I think he scored one point today.

Over their heads.

I definitely want someone who doesn't know that the word is "curricula" involved in their modernization.

Only comic related thing I asked for was the trade paperback of Godzilla: Half-Century War. Only other item on the list that's even slightly related is a coffee table book called The Art of Atari.

Ether #1: Really fun spin on Franco-belgian style comics. I loved the art a ton, and can't wait to see more of the fantasy world that the main character visits.

STRETCH!!!!!
